And then it was December 20th and I wondered if I'd ever
get back into the swing of blogging regularly!
This week has been busy with sick kiddos and a sick hubby.
Yup...we got the pukes and low grade fever going on over here
in the Kennedy household.
Lucky us!
I did manage to make sweet treats and a few ornaments for
our babies' bio momma for her visit with them before Christmas.
I hope she loved them.
{I made two for me to keep also!}
{I made two for me to keep also!}
My sister talked me into doing salt dough ornaments because they are so easy.
And she was right. I remembered seeing cute Santas on instagram.
So I went searching google for the best recipe.
2 cups flour
1 cup salt
3/4 cup - 1 cup warm water
Mix.
Knead for 5 minutes.
Roll.
Shape.
Microwave between 90 seconds and 2 minutes until hard.
But that last part was a lie.
We were going on 1 1/2 hours in the oven when I read to microwave them!
Brilliant. Thanks Kristina!!
Before putting them in the oven I used a little red food coloring mixed with water
and rubbed it around the face area of santa to give him pink cheeks.
Once they were cooled, I used craft paint/pens to paint on the white, red and black.
I just copied the picture I had seen on Instagram from @kimberlyellis.
Thanks for the idea. I can't believe I pulled it off without instructions.
So I thought I'd share my made-up tutorial!
While they were cooling I pulled out all the tricks and made these
little Brownie Santa Hats.
I even surprise myself sometimes.
I had seen them floating around the internet also.
But came up with my own recipe.
