Little Miracles.

That boy in the bucket....
yup...my Blake....
well he's got a secret!

He is wearing UNDERWEAR.
I'm sitting here with tears streaming down my cheeks.
NEVER did I think it would possible.
Him out of diapers.
He is so proud.
We are so happy for him.

With the combination of his surgery and medication
he is pretty much accident and drip free.
It's a miracle.

When the doctor told me six months ago that his goal
was to get Blake in underwear I didn't even know that was possible.
I had my doubts honestly.
And I was scared to death of our new nightly routine
with his best friend, Ace.
But it is going beautifully.
He is pretty much performing his clean outs on his own.
Although we provide company when he asks.
Which is often. But he will get the routine down
and who knows he might even enjoy company free
bathroom time soon....like the rest of us.

Oh wait...I usually leave the door open. TMI? Sorry.

Another little miracle
we are hoping for with your prayers please....

Little Miss heads to surgery bright and early this morning
for her SB repair.

We are praying she doesn't have any nerve damage that limits
her mobility....because just last night....
she decided to stand up and walk.
ALL around the house.
We died!

So I'll be with Little Miss in the hospital for the next 3-5 days.
Your prayers worked so well for Blake...
would you mind including Little Miss in yours today?
God will know who she is if you say Little Miss.
I promise!

Thank you. Kisses to you all.

  5. Wonderful news! I hope Little Miss comes through perfectly. What I also love is Blake in the bucket. I love that kids can find joy, outside, with a hose and a bucket. That's a good childhood. Remind of that when he's 17.

Coming from someone who isn't entirely sure of how long a child will be in diapers, I can appreciate your excitement, tears, and even your skeptism. Hugs friend.

  11. Congrats to you and Blake. It has been a long journey getting him to underwear and I'm sure he is very proud. Good luck with the surgery. Little Miss fell into the right hands when she picked you guys as her foster family. I have followed you for 1 1/2 years. Love your mix of business, crafting, family life and special needs. And the best part of your blog-bachelorette recaps! I thought I was the only person left that watched that show. I haven't missed a season. Pretty well done for reality t.v. you must admit!

  12. So last night I was watching Storytellers Jason Marz and he had a make shift tee on with ACE sharpied on it. It made me think of you and your family and all the good you are doing. I am sure it had a completely other meaning to him but I am a so glad it made me reflect on how easy and blessed my life really is.

I heart comments! Just one rule that I'm sure your momma taught you...if you don't have anything nice to say...please don't say anything at all!
