Small Spaces :: Making Room for Baby Part One

I posted this picture of this sweet little pillow asking you to guess where it was going.
{My sister won by the way on Instagram!}
I also told you I would show you how the corner of our bedroom changed.

This is just the first in a little series we are calling::
SMALL SPACES :: MAKING ROOM FOR BABY

Two reasons for this title.
There are now 6 of us in a 1300 sq. ft. home that was already full of furniture!
And, when it is time for these babies to leave our home
I want baby items to be packed away easily and quickly
to make the transition back to our family of 4 a little easier...
while waiting for the next call for another baby.

The pillow is for our mini crib that now resides in the corner of our bedroom!

Here is the BEFORE and AFTER.....

I have to say the AFTER makes me smile way more than the BEFORE....
even though I adored that burlap chair.

{yes, there is actually a baby sleeping in there in this pic!}

I was so excited to see this new line of portable mini cribs
and was even more excited when I found it cheaper on Walmart.com than Target!
It looks like a little modern dream of a crib
 but actually folds up flat and fits under a bed when not in use.
It uses play yard crib sheets...same as a pop up crib.

I spent hours scouring the internet looking for the right artwork to put above the crib.
When I saw this piece by be true Image Design
I knew it was the perfect saying for our sweet foster babies
and Christy was so generous to donate it towards our Fostering Love sponsor swap.

Because that is all they need right now....LOVE!

Mobile: New at Target
Elephant: Target
Pillow: Handmade by Me
Patchwork Blanket: Blake's from Pottery Barn
White Chair Below: Ikea

When it comes time to put the crib away....this chair will fill that corner
but we don't need to talk about that right now.

    1. Thank you Joyce! It's a perfect crib for grandparents also...or day care providers. I just love that it looks more crib than pop up! Plus I forgot to mention that it wheels right through door ways without having to collapse it!

    1. Kristen...thank you so much! And...if I had a ton of that fabric...it would be going on my bed, on the chair and anywhere else I could put some orange. Actually thinking of making a little doggie bed cover for the floor in our room!

  13. Great setup! Are you using the mattress that came with the crib or did you buy a separate one?

I heart comments! Just one rule that I'm sure your momma taught you...if you don't have anything nice to say...please don't say anything at all!
