I was very happy to be your "roommate" for your last conference. I feel bad for your friend that was not able to make it, but pretty excited to tag along. I had a really great time. I'm thankful that we could share that time together. It's funny that no matter where we go or what we do together that we always have an experience that one of us say "I wish the kids could see this." It's funny, kids are the things that sometimes cause us to argue and those same kids are the things that bring us closest together most times. I remember when we used to laugh at the comments from friends about how fun their kids were. That was so foreign to us and we couldn't imagine life with kids. Now I can't imagine life without them. Long gone are the days of our Saturday mornings of getting up early for breakfast at 6:30 am then off to the beach for the day without a care in the world. Just a few towels, surfboard, and bottles of water. That's all we needed. Now if we don't pack the kitchen sink someone is going to need it. Things have really changed in 17 years but I honestly would not CHANGE a thing. I would love to say we never had harsh words for each other or have been selfish but I can't. The only thing I can do is work on being a good friend every day. I am thankful to have you as my best friend. I cannot see into the future but I think we are going to have a great time no matter what and I'd love to be your roommate again in the future!
Love, Dave

Dear Dave,
Not only do I love you, but I love your letters. Thank you.
Love, April
P.S. You are the best roommate ever. You warm up my cold feet in bed. Can't do that with girlfriends!

Great letters you guys.
ReplyDeleteYou two are so cute!
ReplyDeleteSweetest letter from him I've read so far. Way to go Dave...maybe you'll earn another trip on a surfboard next year!
ReplyDeleteI love these!!!!! You two are too cute. :) I had to laugh April at your warming up your feet comment...my mom does that...to anyone sitting beside her on the couch, in the bed...shoves her frozen feet up under us and then smiles. :)
ReplyDeleteKids change everything and minute by minute that changes from "for the good" to "they are killing me." :)
Happy weekend to you...even if it isn't as carefree as it once was!
