Chicken Squares, Chicken Bundles, Taco What....?

One of our most favorite dinners around here is Chicken Squares.
The recipe was handed down to me from my mom who received it from a friend.
It was promised to be a family favorite and it is!

Elizabeth from Sew Chatty tweeted the other day that she needed a recipe for a dinner she could make to bring to a sweet family that had a new baby.
I tweeted right back...."chicken squares/chicken bundles!"

She is sharing my original version on her blog today made with chicken and cream cheese while I'm here sharing a spin-off version I created because anything 'bundled' in Crescent Rolls is just plain good.

Let me introduce you to....Taco Bundles or Taco Squares.
Same idea as the Chicken bundles and just as good!
The ingredients: 1 lb ground beef or turkey, taco seasoning, shredded cheese, Crescent Rolls original {you know the triangle ones}, shredded lettuce, salsa and sour cream.

Brown ground beef/turkey and mix with taco seasoning according to package directions. Drain. Add in a handful {about 1 cup} shredded cheese and mix together. Cheese will melt in mixture.

Roll out Crescent Rolls leaving two triangles together to make a rectangle. One package of Crescent Rolls makes 4 bundles. We buy two always!!

Seal middle seam by pressing them together with fingers.

Place approx. 1/3 cup of mixture in the center of rectangle and bring opposite corners of Crescent Rolls together and seal on top by pushing gently together. Repeat with opposite corners to form your bundle or square.
Place on baking sheet and put into preheated oven. Bake at 350 degrees for approx. 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

Garnish with shredded lettuce, salsa and sour cream. I add a little of the garnish with every bite of taco square.

YUM!

Elizabeth and I met at Creative Estates just a couple of weeks ago. I think we might have met at the Starbucks at our hotel...but I'm not quite sure. I thought she was fun right off the bat. We had fun dreaming up this little blog share on variations of 'bundles'.

I also make a chicken, cheese and broccoli version.
How do you make your bundles? What do you call them?
 We want to know!

{P.S. Danielle at Take Heart has a charitable giveaway going on today. I am honored to be participating!}

I heart comments! Just one rule that I'm sure your momma taught you...if you don't have anything nice to say...please don't say anything at all!
