In our marriage enrichment class at church on Sunday we talked a lot about positive communication versus pinpricking or criticizing each other. You know when you first fall in love with someone it's all about the wonderful things about that person. Somewhere down the line in marriage we start to see annoyances...little things we want to change about that person and slowly we forget the wonderful things that we fell in love with.
Our challenge this week was to write down the things that we love/admire/respect/appreciate about our spouse. The things we fell in love with. Focusing on the positive things because let's face it when we feel loved, when we feel appreciated, when we are told that we are doing a great job...it just makes us want to be better. So we took the challenge and wrote them in a little letter to each other. Here they are.
