I've Tried Three Times Now....{and a Video}

I've tried three times now to put together a 2010 Year In Review post.
Pictures from the year. Our ups and downs.

I do Dec thru Sept and then get to August and stop.
We lost my brother in August.
And the months leading up to August were spent hanging out with him.
With everything else essentially on hold.
The way I wanted it so that there would be no regrets.
And, there were none.

For me, personally, 2010 was a year about learning to give service freely and lovingly and while doing it, feeling the closest to my Savior, Jesus Christ, than I have ever felt before.

The scriptures state it so perfectly....
'For when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God.'

It was life changing for me and a time in my life I will cherish forever.

As for 2011....I still want that feeling that service brings into my life.
That closeness to my Savior that I felt so overwhelmingly.

This year I am going to focus on serving my little family.
Freely and lovingly.
Not making them take a back seat.
But by putting them first and serving their needs
without several requests being made.

What are your plans for 2011?

And while we are talking about 2011....
here's how we rang in the New Year!

{warning...there is music}

Our friends hosted a 'Minute to Win It' party and we brought
chocolate fondue and Just Dance 2 for the Wii.

Come back tomorrow for 'What's New in 2011!'
here at Funky Vintage Kitchen.

I hope that you have had a relaxing weekend.
We have been sick, but are on the mend.post signature

  1. May we ALL be more appreciative of the time we have with our loved ones. I like how you say "they will not take a back seat." I do that far too often. Happy New Year!

I heart comments! Just one rule that I'm sure your momma taught you...if you don't have anything nice to say...please don't say anything at all!
