Sometimes I stress myself out.
Little comments like...."you've got great style....or I love how you decorate your house" makes me all self-conscious and sometimes stresses me to feel like I have to live up to a certain image. Sounds silly I know, but it happens sometimes. Then I remember that those comments came from me just being me. And, instead of stressing and trying to figure out how to maintain that image....I just need to keep being me.
So here is a little holiday house tour.
Nothing moved. Nothing staged. Nothing dusted.
Just our home decorated for the holidays before I knew someone was going to ask me to document the style and decor.
Hope you enjoy!
Remember our front porch project?
Here is the before.
And here is our AFTER!
Complete with Zoe, our maltese, peeking out the window.
{and our outdoor holiday decorations...we went simple this year}
I found this bench at a craft fair recenlty. It is an old headboard.
It's not holding up very well with the weather, but my hubby says he can fix that!!
We purchased rosemary cones to temporarily fill our pots for the season.
The Joy Flag is from Joyful Joyful!
It was one of my purchases from The Queen Bee Market.
This cream felt ball wreath is from West Elm.
It was the first thing I spotted when I walked into the store on Black Friday
and it was on sale....which meant it was mine!
We kept the inside of our home simple this year too only taking out our favorite decorations.
Each year I replace most of the frames in our home with the Santa pictures from previous years. This one is my favorite. Blake was screaming and it was his first year with leg braces on. We tried so hard to hide them and now I wish I had more pictures of them.
Zoe's stocking which is usually empty Christmas morning.
Bad Santa.
A favorite vintage postcard framed and hung each year.
We always pick a Silver Tip tree...or as my nieces and nephews call it....
A Charlie Brown Tree. It makes them giggle each year!
I love these trees because you can really see each ornament placed on the tree.
My favorite collectible thing for Christmas is anything Santa.
It just reminds me of the magic of the season...the giving and receiving in honor of our Savior's birth.
Vintage Santa Garland strung above the buffet.
And simple vintage-inspired vases lined along the buffet.
I also love displaying stars and a favorite nativity to remind us of the true meaning of the season. This star is perfect in all it's aged glittery goodness!
While this nativity is small, I love it's quaintness.
It sits center-staged on our mantle and when wound up
plays Oh Holy Night...one of my favorite Christmas songs.
Come back tomorrow for my last giveaway....
