More Queen Bee Market....The Loot, The Vendors, The Love!

More Queen Bee Market....
The Loot,
The Vendors,
The Love!

When we arrived at our hotel Thursday evening I promptly set up my little sweat shop on the writing desk in our room. I still had aprons to make. 7 to be exact! I sewed until Dave couldn't take it anymore. 10:30 pm. He kept saying that security was going to come and shut me down because of the noise. So at 10:30 when I could sew no longer I decided that maybe it would be cute to have a little vendor name tag to wear, especially since I was going to be working the cash registers most of the time I was there instead of being at my booth. I knew I had a business card, a huge roll of ruffled crepe paper {I was planning on draping on the back of my booth...but it never happened}, a blank hair clip and some glue.

This is what I came up with and I wore it all weekend long!

THE LOVE!

Friday night after the market closed, I found myself sitting on the floor in front of my booth trying to re-stock and make it pretty again. One by one vendors would come and plop down and next thing you know....we have a little circle of love going on. Talking about each others booths, set-up, marketing, business, laughing, story telling and then it got late and the Queen Bees needed to lock up. I was so sad. I was sure each of these ladies had a great life story. I wanted to hear from each of them. Get to know them better. But it was late and we did need sleep.

Jeannett
from Life Rearranged
was my biggest cheerleader at the market. I loved meeting her as well as Jess + Mique, Lindsey, Courtney, Julie, Amy, Jessica, Megan, Nicole, Heather the photog, Becki, Carli, Aubri, Michelle, Jodi, Summer, Mia, Crystal, Taryn, oh the list could go on. It was such a supportive, caring community of vendors and worker bees. All genuinely happy to be there together supporting handmade. I thought I would wait to come back to the August market, but just thinking about these women and longing for more time with them makes May 2011 necessary!

  2. I can tell you one thing: I would have come home completely BROKE! I would have had to have bought at least one thing from every booth. ;)

  4. Haha. I come home from every show I do with neat little goodies. Somehow it isn't spending when I bought it with crunch instead of money. Glad you had such a good time. Love you and miss you!

  6. I went to the queen bee and your booth was one of my favorites! I bought the pirate apron for my son and we talked about whether it was "okay" for a boy to wear an apron. I just started following your blog and it's super cute! Also, random side note- my sister has spina bifida. Crazy small world. Your stuff is adorable and my son loves his apron!

I heart comments! Just one rule that I'm sure your momma taught you...if you don't have anything nice to say...please don't say anything at all!
