Remember last week....I told you I found amazing things at an estate sale? The BEST estate sale I have ever been to.
Five estates in one. I took Dave. I always like to take Dave. We don't do date night on Friday anymore. We do Saturday date morning. Leaving the children behind at home with the promise of donuts when we return. He and I shop well together. We go back and forth. Do we need it? What can we do with it? Is the cost worth it? Or at that price can we pass it up? But with these two items...we didn't even have to ask each other...we both just knew.
We have been working on a spa-like sunbathing area in our backyard, because I ♥ the sun more than anything. We had plans of building a trellis above the lounge chairs complete with curtains tied back on either side. When we found these turned posts in all their chippy goodness we knew the size was perfect and that it would add a bit of charm to the backyard. They fit perfectly in the post holders that were already cemented in place. It was meant to be. Now we just need to design a trellis top for them! This style of metal chair has been on my wish list for a few years now. I almost screamed in delight when I asked how much they cost and the lady said $10 each. Scream! Clap hands and quickly announce 'SOLD' before anyone else snatched them up at that price. Now I have to decide what color to paint them. They need to be cleaned up a bit so they last a long time.
I'm kind of thinking along the lines of yellow, red, turquoise or even a really pretty cream keeping them simple. But I am up for suggestions. What color would you paint them?
I'd paint all four of them a different color. But then I love my Longaberger dishes because of that.
ReplyDeleteI ♥ those chairs!!! That is Awesome. I love estate sales!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE those chairs!!! before i even read the colors you were leaning toward, i thought "BRIGHT YELLOW!!"
ReplyDeleteI love the chairs! I'm always looking for those vintage lawn chairs and sometimes joke about stealing them from people's porches. Ha ha. I have picked up 3 singles at garage sales and a double glider. Mine are red and white.
ReplyDeleteLove the items you scored! I would totally paint them turquoise!
ReplyDelete$10 each?????? O my gooly gosh that is the BEST deal ever!!!! So.......jealous! We have a neighbor who is always putting stuff out front for free...he has this style double chair in red, hoping one day I drive by and those bad boys are sitting out front just for me!!!
ReplyDeleteI love those chairs!! I would paint them a Turquoise Blue!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! I ditto the color choices above...love the turquoise but then also, it would be snazzy to do each one a different color. Can't wait to see what color choice you go with. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your chairs.I would paint them a nice cream... thern when the paint wears off you have the original color peeking out. So charming. Have fun!
