Albion River Campground
on the Northern California Coast.
Once upon a time there was a story about fish.
And, fish guts. And, camping. And, fun times.
And a very brave girl named, Kaia, who picked up fish guts....
...to feed to Lucielle, the campground's one-eyed seal friend.
Ken, Kirk & Dave.
It being Dave's first time diving for abalone.
Ken and Kirk also went out spear fishing.
They caught lots of fish and a scallop!
All the men at camp helped clean the fish.
And everyone helped pound and prepare the abalone.
While the adults were working hard...
unbeknownst to them,
the children were out hunting for their own food!
using only string, hot dogs and their own two hands!
They gathered a large pot and put the crab on the camp stove to boil.
All while the adults were trying to figure out if it was even crab catching season.
Shhhhhh....
Albion River Campground was enjoyed by all and
will most definitely become a new camping tradition for
the Kennedy family.
even with no showers for two days!
(They were available, they just chose not to shower.
They were camping!)
I took pictures of the process.
Recipe coming this week!

How fun! Camping is the best...good memories are always made. I think my favorite picture by far though would have to be the one of the guys in their wet suits...pretty funny! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat picture is so funny because right before I took the picture, I said...1, 2, suck in, 3!
