I'm still working on finishing Kaia's room.
We are headed to Ikea this weekend for some final touches.
I'll post the big reveal next week.
With info on where I purchased everything.
In the meantime,
I revamped her cork board that was in her room
that didn't really match the new decor.
I purchased the framed cork board at Ross.
Bought some fabric that coordinates with her room off Etsy.
Here is my mini tutorial with pictures.
How to:
Measure the size of the exposed cork and cut the fabric to match.
Next iron the fabric to smooth out the wrinkles
and spray adhesive all over the cork.
Lay the fabric over the cork and smooth the fabric onto the cork.
Cut grosgrain ribbon to length for each edge
and use a glue gun to secure the ribbon to the edges,
folding under the edges where needed.

It looks great hanging on her wall.
But you will have to wait for the big reveal to see the actual finished product!

Great fabric and tutorial! Thanks April!
ReplyDeletecute fabric!! I think I'll have to make one of theses soon. I have so many arts & crafts coming home from preschool. My fridge is covered & I know there are more things Luke would like to display. Have you seen the one with several materials on PB teen? looks too complicated for me to recreate but they're cute.
ReplyDeleteI have that same fabric! Used it for my table at the Studio 12 launch party! LOVE it!! What a cute idea! Hey, I have some ideas to run by you, are you available for coffee next week? Miss ya!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how it looks all together. I love room redo's.
ReplyDeleteDIY...do you know how long it took me to realize what that acronym stood for? YEARS. That obviously means I was a BIC type of gal..."buy it completed".
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! It's so much easier than the why I have tried to make them in the past. It turned out beautiful!! Do you mind me asking what fabric that is and where you found it?
ReplyDeleteThank!
