O My Father!

One of Jason's favorite hymns....here are the words. Couldn't get through them without crying. He had my mom sing it to him this morning.

O my Father, thou that dwellest
In the high and glorious place,
When shall I regain thy presence
And again behold thy face?
In thy holy habitation,
Did my spirit once reside?
In my first primeval childhood
Was I nurtured near thy side?

For a wise and glorious purpose
Thou hast placed me here on earth
And withheld the recollection
Of my former friends and birth;
Yet ofttimes a secret something
Whispered, “You’re a stranger here,”
And I felt that I had wandered
From a more exalted sphere.

I had learned to call thee Father,
Thru thy Spirit from on high,
But, until the key of knowledge
Was restored, I knew not why.
In the heavns are parents single?
No, the thought makes reason stare!
Truth is reason; truth eternal
Tells me I’ve a mother there.

When I leave this frail existence,
When I lay this mortal by,
Father, Mother, may I meet you
In your royal courts on high?
Then, at length, when I’ve completed
All you sent me forth to do,
With your mutual approbation
Let me come and dwell with you.

My brother has a very strong testimony of these words. There is no shadow of doubt. That brings me comfort. And P.S.....prayers are working right now. Jason woke up this morning and asked for and ate TWO eggs and then wondered when I was bringing him his banana smoothie! We are cherishing every day.

  1. I have had no time to read blogs lately and am now catching up on yours. I can't seem to get a grip right now. April you have gone through so much, the only good thing with all of this is that you help and teach many others that are having struggles. You are such an example to me and I love you so much. Dang, I am really missing you. I continue to pray for you, your brother and family. I love you all!!

  2. And your mother made it through singing that without bawling her eyes out??? Man she is incredibly strong!!!

I think of you so many times a day, and your family too! I am glad that there are victories in the midst of everything!

    Hugs to you!

I heart comments! Just one rule that I'm sure your momma taught you...if you don't have anything nice to say...please don't say anything at all!
