Holland Is.....

Perfectly wonderful today.

And, so was church.

I shared "Welcome to Holland" during my Gospel Doctrine Class.

Because don't we all end up in Holland in one way or another with our trials?

We can learn so much from Joseph in Genesis 42 - 45. So much!

Joseph had many great trials. His brothers hated him. Conspired to kill him. Then sold him into slavery. Potipher's wife accused him of a sin he did not commit and then he was thrown in jail to spend a couple of years there.

The story of his forgiveness and love towards his family several years later is a lesson for us all to learn. It is beautiful and makes me cry because I want to try to be like Joseph.

Try to follow the example of my Savior, Jesus Christ.

What great trials Joseph had and what a great attitude he met them with. He was never confined to a negative world of grudge-bearing and blame. Instead, Joseph had the amazing power to see the good in all his trials.

He made the best of "Holland" and I want to also in my everyday life!

I started my lesson today asking the class how many people see the cup half-full and how many people see the cup half-empty. The room was split half and half. I then boldly stated that I believe that people that see the glass half full are happier people.

While facing the trial of my miscarriage the scripture that often came to mind was D&C 122:7 "....and these things shall give thee experience." When we think this way of trials, we are able to grow and even help lift one another's burdens in life.

I am happy today.

{It probably helps that I have just finished eating three Lindt Lindor Truffles and shared the last one with Dave!}

Now to keep the goodness going, I am off to make, our new tradition of, Sunday waffles for the fam!

  2. I'm realizing that right now I'm in Holland too ~ and, as hard as it is, I don't want to be anywhere else. Thanks for the beautiful reminder.

I heart comments! Just one rule that I'm sure your momma taught you...if you don't have anything nice to say...please don't say anything at all!
