We received this bounty of farm fresh fruits and veggies as a thank you from some dear friends and I am so overcome with thanksgiving for it. I want to THANK them over and over, but it was a 'thank you' gift. How do you 'thank you' a 'thank you'? (It reminds of The Office last night. Which by the way was the first time Dave and I have sat down to watch it. We couldn't stop laughing. Finally!)
These are all the fruits and veggies I would normally buy also. In fact, I had just picked up two lemons to use on chicken last night and now they are replaced with two more! Blake walked in from school and instantly wanted the cantaloupe cut up. "That is for breakfast tomorrow, sweetie," I told him. "Can I have an apple then," he said. I told him to go for it. I don't want any of this bounty going to waste. It is precious to me.
We had planned on homemade whole wheat cheese pizza tonight for dinner. We will now be having veggie pizza with bell pepper, onion, garlic, and mushrooms. And, I plan on making zucchini bread muffins for morning recess snacks for next week. Chicken noodle soup with the carrots. A big green salad with avocado to go with our pizza tonight. I still have red potatoes and broccoli to use as side dishes for dinner and even some jalapeno peppers for Dave to stuff and grill for an appetizer one night!
Really, I can't thank you enough for the wonderful thank you gift! I'm off to go make my pizza dough now.
P.S. You were an answer to a prayer too....which was why I cried after you left and then knelt and thanked my Heavenly Father for you.
