While in this funk (see below), and after 15 years of marriage, I am finally serving mac n cheese and hot dogs to my family for dinner. Not just to the kids but the whole family. With NO VEGGIES. It felt good to go back to my roots and make a comfort food for my family. Except at first the thought of it made me throw up in my mouth. I quickly got over it when I realized I had the ingredients, it wasn't going to cost me a penny, I didn't have to figure out where we were going to eat out, or make a phone call to order a pizza! It's starting to look brighter....or at least cheesier!
To every thing there is a time and a season under heaven. When in a funk, mac-n-cheese with hot dogs is the right time and season! Way to go!

ReplyDeleteI am so jealous that Blake can eat hot dogs!!! It's a MAJOR no no on Nathaniel's list!! And even thought I won't eat them, it would be nice to give something simple and comfy like that to the kids for dinner one night!!

ReplyDeleteI wish I felt bad about feeding my kids mac and cheese and hot dogs. But I don't. And they love it. I don't mix them together though, so they get "bread" on the side in the shape of a bun. Oh, and we usually have fruit on the side. But no guilt.
ReplyDeletemy kids will not eat mac and cheese unless I add a can of tuna and some peas. I know it sounds weird but I've been making it like that and they love it. I love it too. tastes like a casserole or something else delish.
