300th POST GIVEAWAY.

As much as this blog is for my own personal record keeping, I also keep it going for my followers and silent fans, if I might indulge myself and call you that! You see, keeping a journal is fun. And I hope some day my future generation will enjoy getting to know me and know what makes me think and tic and laugh and cry. The only problem with waiting for my future generation to read it....is that writing it can be lonely. You never get to hear what your future generation thinks. What comments they will make. What thoughts they will have of me....this wild, all over the place lady called "April."

With blogging and fun followers.....the comments make it all worth while. So today.....I thank you. And offer a GIVEAWAY. A secret GIVEAWAY. A prize that will be made known once the winner is known. Do you trust me? I promise it will be worthy of very brown-nosing, butt kissing comments. So start commenting! And cheer me up please....I've actually been feeling a little down this week.....over many different things. And I just want some cheer. And in return....I will provide the winner with some happy mail. Some cheer.

Love to you all! Giveaway will close Sunday night and winner will be announced Monday morning!

kisses,

  8. Ah the pressure! To write something cheerful, witty and butt kissing at the same time! At 7:20am. I'll write you an "April Bio." April is a work at home mom with 2 fantastic, funny offspring, and one bad boy dirt-biker husband. She kicks it up a notch on the world wide stage with her adventures in blogging and providing all things funky and vintage for her etsy shop, making a little magic with her sewing machine, fabric finds and good taste! She enjoys great food, great shopping, great friends and keeps it all together while livin’ the plan. Have a baby and she’ll throw you a rockin’ party!

  10. Turn that frown upside down! Argh! I know what you mean about needing some cheer... this week has been rough down here as well. It must be something in the california air? In either case... hopefully you find the cheer you need. And when you do... send it on down to Long Beach for a little cheer spreading for me please!

Thank you for blogging... 300 is a number to be proud of. I love hearing all about your life and fun stories... not to mention catching the butterflies on your other blog as well. I feel like I know you through your stories... so thank you for that. And thank you for your strong faith and foundation in Jesus Christ. Although we come from 2 different religions... you dont often find people these days who say wholeheartedly their testimony and love for Jesus Christ and the sacrifices He made for us.

    Hugs

And Tracy, to know that you know that I have a testimony of Jesus Christ sufficiently cheers me! Thank you for sharing that.

Everyones comments are sweet! Thanks and good luck!

    P.S. Don't worry....I won't count this comment for the drawing :)

  12. I know I can't top Amy's post, so I am not even going to try. I will say that if it weren't for you and Amy, I probably wouldn't have started my own blog. It was because I enjoyed reading your blogs so much that I decided to start my own. Also, if it weren't for blogging I wouldn't have reconnected with so many people. Sending cheer your way...

  15. cheer up twinner. I wish I knew you better so I could know what you need. I always imagine you running around your house like a cheerful little busy bee. too busy for a visit from little ole' me. Maybe I should cast aside the notion that you're always busy and just impose from time to time. and you're always welcome to kiss my baby's cheeks. they'll cheer you right up!

  16. Let me just get your blanky and find your "end" and rub it on your lip. Seriously - that ALWAYS made you feel better. One time when I was crying you went and got your blanky and rubbed my lip too. I remember it cheered me up right away. Love you sweet cheeks.

    Mom xoxo

  18. April - ok, ok, I will leave a comment. I usually just like to lurk and hand around anonymously getting to know you better than I ever did while we were growing up. I was truly disappointed when I didn't get to see you the day I visited good old 3rd ward.

As far as the cheering up - just take a look at the big picture. You have everything going for you April Erickson Kennedy! You have two beautiful children, a great husband, an amazing love story, and a gift to capture people with your written words. That doesn't even begin to touch on your obvious creative abilities that I would kill to have! LOL.

You are I are similar in that our Heavenly Father entrusted us with very special spirits. That is a great testament to your strength and abilities. You are amazing!

I will leave you with the words I recently read that touched my heart...

"To the world you are a mother, but to your family you are the world."

Have a great day, a better weekend and a wonderful Easter.

    Love - Kami Wright

  22. April,
Congratulations on your 300 th !!! We've met not too long ago. However, for what I have seen and heard you are just one of a kind friend. You have so many friends who love you and care about you as much as you love and care for them. So here is a poem which may help to reflect some of the light you have brought into many of your LOVED ONES.

    God sends blessings,
    such as people like you.
    we really appreciate
    all that you do.

    May God bless you
with all his love and care.
    We want to Thank You,
    for always being there.

    You listened to my problems
You lend your shoulder for me to cry on,
You wiped my tears with your precious hanky'
you lent your ears for me to open up my pain,

    Thank You so much
you never stopped listening to all my worries, my happiness
your advise and sympathy helped me move on,

    It's people like you
who bring happiness in the lives of others,
    I want the world to know;
how lucky I am to have you,
Because, you were always there my friend.

  28. Do something every day that makes you happy. Maybe a bubble bath, reading a good book, drinking hot chocolate, go for a walk and look at all the spring flowers coming up. I have found that this helps me have an attitude of gratitude.
Sometimes if I'm real down I read all my thank you notes (I keep all of them), and this helps me to realize I do make a difference.

  34. I have thought about this post several times in the past couple days since you posted it thinking about how I could perfectly express in a witty and charming way just how cool I think you are. I am much more of a list kinda girl so I went with it. Here is my list to describe you, in the best way I could.
    1. a whole lotta Martha and a little bit sass.
    2. charming and witty with a side of sarcasm. (I've got some major "wit" envy. My great lines come hours later, usually waking me up out of a dead sleep, and I think "oh, that would have been a good one!")
    3. Caring and compassionate
    4. SUPERB sense of style
    5. honest and loyal
    6. outgoing and fun-loving
    7. did I say a SUPERB sense of style? I think it deserves to be noted twice.
    8. Amazing party planner (BTW, my BD is Feb. 3rd *wink *wink
    9. thoughtful (see #8)
    10. someone with an appreciation for what is old and full of character.

I really could go on and on. These characteristics come through your writings as well as in person and I am so thankful that you found my work so that we could be friends!

K, I am done, it may be a mess but I meant every word. Call me this week so we can go to the city! :)

    Night,
    Sarah

I heart comments! Just one rule that I'm sure your momma taught you...if you don't have anything nice to say...please don't say anything at all!
