OUR LOVE STORY. PART ONE. STORY FIVE.

This one is short and sweet and will take you by surprise.

Best Friends' First Kiss.

December 1985. 14 years old. 12:45 pm. Standing at locker getting books out. The Kennedy boy comes up behind me. Then around to the side of me. Holds the mistletoe above my head and plants one on me. Right on the lips. I, of course, return the favor with lip movement. Then he is off. I stand there shocked. Excited. Smiling. Smile getting bigger. I just had my first kiss!

Same Day. Still 14 years old. 3:15 pm. Walking home from school with my best friend. Actually floating home from school....still on cloud nine. Conversation with best friend goes something like this....

Me: "I had my first kiss today!"

Friend: "Me too!"

Me: "Mine was with Dave Kennedy!"

Friend: "Mine too!"

That Kennedy boy was using the mistletoe to his advantage. That's OK ....I'm getting the last kiss! Plus I'm pretty sure no one else made out with him on the back of a motorcycle and in the hallway of the church....at least in 9th grade!

  4. April girl ... I remember you coming home and telling me about your first kiss - no details, like mistletoe or anything. You also told me that the Kennedy boy also kissed Christine. My words to you went something like - "Why do you like someone who kisses everybody?" Dreamy look in your eyes...smiling...no response. Maybe he ended up chosing you because of the "lip movement." Ahh but you're right. You did get the last kiss!
    Love, Mom

I heart comments! Just one rule that I'm sure your momma taught you...if you don't have anything nice to say...please don't say anything at all!
