If you know me well you know that I love to give. I love to surprise people with little acts that will brighten their day. I have been known to pay for the person's soda and gum that stood in line in front of me, because they had accidently left their wallet in their car. I love paying for two tolls on bridges even when I don't know the person in the car behind me. {When Dave and I lived on the east coast, where they have toll roads, one night for family home evening before children, we collected our coins and just drove the toll roads paying for the car behind us...it was a hoot.} I love holding a door open for someone...old or young. I LOVE random acts of kindness. I LOVE the feel good feeling that it brings, hoping I touched someone elses life for good that day and made a difference. And I LOVE even more when I hear of a person "Paying it Forward"!
Today instead of a give-a-way of sorts, I am going to start a "Pay it Forward". Here is how it works:
PAY IT FORWARD: I will send a handmade gift to the first three (3) people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. You may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog. (so, you must have a blog to participate.) I can't wait to see who I will be giving to. To join, comment away on my blog and then just cut and paste these instructions to your own blog. {You can wait until you get your item from me to start your pay it forward.} So get posting!
I'm not sure what I will be making, but am very excited to see who participates. And who knows, if there is a lot of *wish I had made it into the top three* comments, I might extend it to five! {I know, Jill, no fair, you don't have a blog....don't worry lil' sis...I will take care of you!}
I would LOVE to join your pay it forward exchange!!! I'm off to post my own pay it forward post!! WHat a great idea, thank you! Hmmm, wonder what I'll send to the people from my blog??

Tara @ Life, as it is
Okay I am very late and am not the first 3 or 5 but I would love to take part. I am like you, it just brightens my day to know I made someone elses. I am definitely going to do this too. Maybe I will wait and see if I get anything from you first!!! Just kidding I know by the rules I wasn't the first 3 but I do have an infant that takes away from my computer time of commenting and reading blogs. Okay enough excuses, I am going to Pay It Forward!!
ReplyDeleteOh one more thing, I can't make any promises that mine will be handmade, but I will pay it forward somehow!!
ReplyDeleteYesterday at Store 24, there were 3 children in line ahead of me. Now yesterday was about 45 degrees in Boston and these children were all under 10 yrs old (unsupervised of course) and the youngest a little girl had to be 4 maybe 5, and she was wearing thin pajama's with flip flop sandals while her two older brothers wore shorts. It was way to cold to go out like that. they were fussing with a few bags of chips and had to put some back because they didn't have enough money, so while they put an item or two back on the shelves I paid for their stuff at the counter. I gotta tell ya it felt pretty good to help someone out!
