I know I have a lot to catch up on....like Blake's preschool graduation, Kaia's 5th grade promotion, Father's Day in Santa Cruz, Blake's 6th birthday and camping in the backyard....but The 4th of July is one of my fav holidays! I married a very patriotic man. Having served 12 years in the Air Force (married to him for 8 of them) Dave has taught me to have an incredible love for my Country through his example. I am proud to be an American. I am proud to say I vote. I am proud of all of the young and old, men and women, serving our Country today and ask that each of you say a little prayer today, not only for them, but for their families from whom they are separated. Have a Happy 4th!
P.S. (and don't forget to place your hand over your heart every time you say the Pledge of Allegiance or sing the National Anthem....Dave also taught me that one rule quickly with the most disgusted glare I have ever received the first time we were together and The National Anthem was sung..it was at the movie theater on the Air Force base. I quickly covered my heart but I wasn't sure he was still going to marry me after that date!)
I am always glad that EVERY time I hear the National Anthem I get the chills. EVERY time. I never served in the armed forces, but I am very thankful for those who have and those who are. Teagan LOVES the National Anthem too. He hums it all the time. I am so thankful we live in the United State of America.
